Gr8Bake is run by Thomas, a Maltese grower who spent years learning this climate the hard way before ever selling a seed. This page is the honest version of who we are, how we choose what we sell, and what you can expect when you order.
How it started
Built in Malta, for Maltese Growers.
The name Gr8Bake came from one of those conversations where you’re throwing around ideas looking for something short, memorable, and unmistakably your own. The name stuck, and when the time came to launch a dedicated home for our legal hemp products, it felt like the perfect fit.
The business itself grew from years of experience in Malta’s cannabis industry. As more customers asked for seeds, hemp edibles, and other compliant products, we decided to create a specialist store focused entirely on this range. Today, Gr8Bake remains an independent, founder-run business built on practical experience, transparency, and a genuine passion for the plant.

Why malta needs it own approach
TerraSoil: built for our island.
Most growing advice online is written for other climates. Malta's heat, humidity and long dry spells break the standard rules, which is why our sister brand TerraSoil developed a soil built for these conditions: high water retention so plants survive drought periods and longer gaps between watering, with an open structure that gives roots air and space and keeps rot away.
That’s the standard we hold everything to. If it doesn’t work here, we don’t sell it here.
What Earns a Place in the Shop
We keep our range deliberately smaller, choosing genetics we know and stand behind.
1. Grow it first
We personally grow selected genetics in Malta before deciding whether they belong on our shelves.
2. Test it locally
We look at how each strain performs in our climate, from reliability and resilience to the overall growing experience.
3. Stock it honestly
If we would not plant it or recommend it ourselves, we do not list it. A smaller, more considered range is the point.
